Gina Warren Abston, MS, BCBA

Clinical Director

My name is Gina Warren Abston, and I am delighted to be the Clinical Director of Piece By Piece ABA Therapy Center!  I began my graduate degree in Behavior Analysis & Therapy in 1997 and became a BCBA in 2003.  The main focus of my career has been in the areas of early intervention, parent training, staff training, and autism.  I became a parent in 2005, giving birth to a little boy born prematurely, and who was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy and autism.  I recognized that unlike most parents, I was incredibly fortunate to have my educational and professional experience to help me navigate the waters of raising a child with special needs.  My life’s work has been devoted to helping families throughout this process and supporting them in the best way possible.

When not at work, I can be found in a household of boys, cats and a gigantic German Shepherd.   Between the never-ending piles of laundry, dishes and pet fur, I greatly enjoy reading, music, baking, card games, board games, skee ball, POUND group fitness classes, and binge-watching Netflix!

Charlyn Basile, RBT

Program Manager

Hi all! My name is Charlyn but everyone calls me Basile (BAY- zel). I come from a family of five kids, so growing up never was a dull experience. I graduated from Purdue University (#boilerup) with a bachelor’s degree in human services. I decided I was not done torturing myself, so I went back to school and graduated from Capella University with a master’s degree in psychology with specialization in applied behavior analysis (ABA).  I have worked in the field of ABA for five years and I am currently working towards becoming a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA). For the majority of my life I have always worked in the field of helping others. From a peer tutor, camp counselor, respite care provider, case manager to ABA therapist. All these jobs have given me the opportunity to fulfill my goal in helping others. ABA therapist is where my true passion lies though. ABA has guided me to wanting to achieve something greater in life. My overall goal is to open an autism center in a community that may not have a lot of options when it comes to receiving support and resources. I know how important it is to have resources and by creating a community to serve just that will help others succeed in life to have the best life one could have possible. I’m extremely excited to join this team and meet many, wonderful people.

Kira Barrett, RBT

Kira graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Early Intervention. Kira became an RBT in 2015. In her free time, Kira enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids floating on the river, riding 4-wheelers and enjoying bonfires. Kira loves working with children and tackling problem areas to figure out how to help kids master new skills and gain more pride and independence.

Sarah Tackett, RBT

I am Sarah Tackett! I was born on New Year’s Day and was raised in Monticello, IN. My young son is my world and I love spending all my time with him when I am not working. I have been in the ABA field for a year and I absolutely love it. I am so glad to be a part of Piece By Piece!

Kelsie Neal, RBT

ABA Therapist

I became an RBT in 2019. I am currently going back to school for applied behavior analysis at Purdue University Global. I have always enjoyed helping people. My past jobs have been in mental health and a direct support professional for those with different disabilities. I finally found my calling with ABA Therapy and love working with children and enjoy helping them meet their goals.

In my spare time, I love to read, binge watch tv shows, spoil my two cats and dog, and pretend like I can paint.

Leah Schick, RBT

ABA Therapist

Leah has been an RBT since 2018 and was first made known of the field through a friend. Her love of early development and science made behavior analysis a solid win to work in. What she enjoys most about her work is watching her learners establish friendships, say new words, and learn new living skills.  Leah is the mother of one son, and they both enjoy taking time to explore new areas of the state and beyond. Together they are consistently working towards their goal of visiting as many National Parks as possible. When not in RBT or Mom mode, Leah enjoys curating spaces, hiking and sewing infant/toddler clothing.

Chloe Turner, RBT

ABA Therapist

I graduated from Indiana University Kokomo in 2018 and have been an ABA therapist since May of 2019.  I love seeing children learn and grow, and especially love knowing that I have made an impact in their lives!  When I am not working, I enjoy singing, opera, musical theatre, and spending time with my cats, Snickers & Oreo.

Kailynn Dearinger, RBT

Office Manager

My name is Kailynn Dearinger. I have been working in the field of ABA since 2015.  I love my job and working with children.  The best part of my job is that not every day is the same.

I am the mother of three great children, two boys and one girl. I spend most of my time at gymnastics with my daughter or soccer with my boys.  I also enjoy reading, horseback riding, and singing.  My favorite place to visit was Jamaica,  but I would love to take my family to Paris someday.

Raghan Lerch, RBT

ABA Therapist

Reghan began as a RBT in June of 2018, but started out as an ABA therapist in November 2017. She had a love for working with children from a young age when she started babysitting for family friends. Reghan graduated from William Henry Harrison in 2013. Reghan’s favorite thing about being a RBT is making a difference in children’s everyday lives. The joy clients show when mastering a target gives an indescribable feeling. In her free time Reghan enjoys traveling, especially to Tennessee, and spending time with her almost three-year-old Catahoula Leopard. Reghan’s short term goals include finishing the remodel on her house and adding another fur baby to her family.

Dawn Deemer, RBT

ABA Therapist

I started in the field of applied behavioral analysis in 2017 as a RBT and continue to work with children because they keep me young.  I have an undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and later obtained a graduate degree in Special Education from LaTech University.    I recently earned a graduate certificate from Purdue University in Applied Behavioral Analysis because I have always wanted to work exclusively with children  providing  ABA therapy.   I have four children of my own, three sons and one daughter.  I have grandchildren, so I spend most of my time traveling to visit family in Tennessee and Ohio.  I enjoy traveling to other places and reading outside on nice sunny days.

Sarah Tackett, RBT

ABA Therapist

My name is Briana Shockley and I love what I do as a RBT! The environment is always so much fun & there is always something new we can learn to help teach our clients in the best possible way! I attended Indiana State University and recently just transferred to Purdue Global to finish my undergraduate degree, in hopes of finishing with my Masters in ABA or Human Services!  In my free time I enjoy traveling around to new places, being out on the boat, kayaking and spending time with my family. I’m so excited to join the team here at Piece by Piece!

Ashley Bennett, RBT

ABA Therapist

I graduated from Purdue University in 2006 with a Child Development Family Studies Degree. I have always enjoyed seeing people find pride in their accomplishments. Their accomplishments make me want to work even harder.

I have worked in a wide range of settings as a Case Manager for a total of 14 years and have found that working with children is what makes me happy. I started out working as a School Based Case Manager and soon after that worked in a residential setting with children of all ages. I ventured back and forth between different professions but always came back to working with the younger generation.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family. I have three children 10, 8 and a one year old baby boy who has pulled on all of our heart strings. My family and I like to stay active being outside as much possible. I can’t wait to grow with Piece by Piece and learn from each child who attends!

Emily Ray, RBT

ABA Therapist

I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a degree in Human Development.  I learned about ABA as a teaching assistant in Florida and have been an RBT since 2017.  I am currently working towards my ultimate goal of becoming a Speech Language Pathologist.  I love watching children gain the skills they have been working to achieve!
